There is no point in applying for pet insurance as your vet has already expressed an opinion that you dog has diabetis and that will almost certainly result in your application for pet insurance being refused. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

You will only qualify for a debt relief Order if your savings and other assets (excluding a car valued up to £2,000) total less tham £300. Yes you have an expensive credit card - at the moment most cards are in the 17.5% to 19% range. If you have not missed any installments, I suggest you shop around for another card. Most insurers will insure a house for upto 60 days if it is left unoccupied (some 90). I very much advise you to phone your insurer and explain the situation. They will be able to cover you - but they will probably make a small one off charge.
