I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetis. But I want to see a specialist about this. Will my medical insurance pay for me to do this?

Diabetes is classes as a "chronic illness" because it cannot be cured. Treatment is purely to control the results of diabetes, not to cure it.

Now most medical insurance policies, exclude the medical costs relating to all "chronic illnesses". Therefore, i very much doubt that you will be able to claim. Still it would be worth a phone call to Customer Services at your insurance company - they will soon tell you!
