There is a ton of debt advice out there and debt counselors are bombarded with people trying to find the best debt reduction program. What is worrying, however, is the amount of IVA companies who convince the customer that an IVA is for them, when perhaps a debt management plan would be better. But then, there is no money to be made out of an DMP for these companies.

There is also bankruptcy, debt relief orders (due April 2009) and debt consolidation loans out there for people in debt. Yet you must do your homework and understand all the details before choosing which best suits your predicament. The wrong debt reduction plan could set you back years and seriously hurt your pocket.
