car insurance - my son drives on my insurance

when my son started driving he was quoted a huge premium. so i insured his car in my name with him as a named driver. a friend at work says this is illegal. is that right?

yes this is illegal. you are effectively cheating the insurance company. if they find out what you are doing they will void the insurance and refuse any claim. ur son would then be driving without insurance. i suggest you reinsure the car in ur sons name asap.
