We've just moved home & I can't find an NHS dentist that will take my family of 4. If i get medical insurance will that help?

Yes. Many dentists will not take on any more NHS clients but they all seem to find space if you want to be treated privately! I suggest that you check out whether your policy will pay the dentist direct or whether you have to pay the dentist and then reclaim the money.
